About
Hi, I'm Jake.
I'm trying to be a renaissance man.
I read a lot, I write software, I'm a little obsessed with personal finance, and I take fitness more seriously than is strictly reasonable. I also make YouTube videos about all of it.
I don't think you have to pick one thing. The old ideal — curious about everything, and genuinely good at a lot of it — is the one I'm chasing. This site is all the threads in one place, and an honest attempt to do each of them well.

What I believe
A few operating principles
Systems over goals
I trust loops, not finish lines. Build the machine that keeps aiming.
Less, but better
Minimalism as a forcing function. Fewer things, chosen carefully, kept a long time.
Notice on purpose
Most progress is just paying attention to what you were ignoring — money, habits, time.
